Movin' In!

Hey all!

Well, I have officially been here in NYC for one week. A wonderful moving crew helped me move in last Saturday...driving both ways in the rain, no less! I am a blessed girl :) Here are a few pictures from that:

Nick and Hans working hard with my new drill! (Very exciting to buy)

Dad and Pastor Al building me a closet from scratch (into plaster walls, no less!)

Mom stocking up the cabinets (making the most out of our limited space!)

This is my street! Sullivan Street in SoHo...my building is on the right, above the Cheese shop. (Yes, our hallways smell like cheese. haha)

Close-up of my building...we're on the 3rd floor.

Well that's probably enough for now...I'll post more later! Things are going well, though...God is good. I am fascinated by the city and spend most of my time walking down the sidewalks with my head upturned...there is so much to look at. (So far I haven't run into anyone doing that, but it's bound to happen soon). I can walk to work and I've also begun to try navigating the subway system a bit, although it's going take awhile to figure that out for sure :-)

There is so much more I could say but I'll keep it short for now and be in touch soon to give you updates on the ministry...God bless everyone!!

Love, love, love,
Kelly

New Apartment!

Hey everyone! Welcome to the new "Funnel" blog. I thought this would be a great way to keep in touch about what God is doing in NYC.

The first bit of very exciting news is that, after much searching, we officially have an apartment! (I am going to be living with another girl on staff at the church). The apartment is in a great area in lower Manhattan...if anyone is familiar with SoHo or the South Village, it's right around there. Walking distance or a short subway away from the church, which is also exciting.

My move-in date is set for next Saturday, the 17th, and I'll be starting at the church on the following Tuesday.

Well, I'm off to shop for a few important apartment items (like a bed!) I'll be in touch!

Love, Kelly

P.S. Did you check out the random shower in the corner of our guest room? (see picture below) Our bathroom is in a completely different place. Only in New York!
